Virtual Evaluations at NCAWAG
We offer virtual evaluations for clients living in and outside of North Carolina.
Clients: Interested in a virtual evaluation? Clients must:
Reside in a PSYPACT-participating state (check the PSYPACT map here)
Agree to our Virtual Evaluation Policies (below).
The following states have pending PSYPACT legislation or are not yet participating PSYPACT states:
Alaska, California, Guam, Iowa, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oregon, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands

Virtual Evaluation Policies
To ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, NCAWAG adheres to the following policies:
Age: Virtual clients must be adults or teens aged 16 or above.
Testing: Virtual IQ testing is available for adults only. We do not offer virtual academic testing.
Location: Virtual clients must reside in a PSYPACT-participating state
Presence: Clients must be physically located in their home state at the time of the virtual evaluation. Evaluations are conducted live via a secure video platform (SimplePractice).
Technology: Clients must have a computer with a camera, microphone, and speakers to access SimplePractice, in addition to:
Connectivity: Reliable, high-speed internet connection
Visibility: Clients must be willing to remain on camera to allow for behavioral observation
Environment and Space: Evaluations must take place in a quiet, private room free from interruptions
Childcare: For families with multiple children, parents must secure external childcare to ensure the testing environment remains controlled and professional
Insurance: PSYPACT authorization does not guarantee insurance reimbursement. Please verify your insurance coverage prior to initiating a virtual evaluation if you hope to submit a superbill to your insurance.

The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) is an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology and/or the temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology amongst states that have enacted PSYPACT legislation.
